The Street Crossing

Paddy is in New York.  He is patiently waiting and watching the traffic cop on a busy street crossing.

The cop stops the flow of traffic and shouts: "OK, pedestrians."

Then, he allows the traffic to pass.

He's done this several times and Paddy still stands on the sidewalk.

After the cop has shouted "Pedestrians" for the 10th time, Paddy goes over to him and says, "Saints Alive! Is it not about time to let the Catholics cross?"
