High Spirits

(1988) - High Spirits is a fun movie about an ageing Irish castle owner, who, to keep his castle from the hands of a greedy American developer, decides to market his castle as the most haunted castle in Ireland.  The bungled amateur attempts of faked haunting and ghost appearances are quickly uncovered by his American guests, but the real appearance of ghosts takes everyone by surprise.  Starring Peter O'Toole as the castle owner, Steve Guttenberg as the American tourist and Daryl Hannah as one of the ghosts, the cast is outstanding and the movie a great St. Patrick's Holiday treat.
